In each post, we introduce you to the cast and crew of The New World Horror. Next up, the very talented Greg Johnson, who is no stranger to horror films or stage productions. Locally, you may have seen him in production with Mercury Players and Broom Street Theater.
Daniel fell in love with science at a young age. In 5th grade, he knew he wanted to be a scientist when he had to perform a science project called “Biological Battery” which shows how the human skin and two different metals create a battery. After his younger paramour Aisha was injured in a terrorist incident, Daniel followed her to England. The couple married after she made a full recovery, staying until Daniel finished up his schooling at Cambridge. Later, they moved to the States. Aisha went to college to become a nurse, while Daniel worked as a biology professor. Daniel has written two books, both promoting stem cell research and his work on curing Parkinson’s disease. His expertise was utilized by the Department of Health and Human Services for a flu outbreak and a measles outbreak. Daniel also advocates for childhood vaccinations, speaking at various conferences and panels. Until The New World Horror….
Tell us about your character and how you plan to portray him.
I’m playing Daniel. A bookish scientist/doctor who with his wife when provoked can kick some zombie booty.
What is your favorite horror movie and why?
Favorite horror movies are Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Exorcist. For modern day films, I really enjoyed Bug.
What are you most looking forward to about working on this movie and why?
I’m looking forward to working on The New World Horror because I don’t often get to play characters like Daniel. Plus the production team assembled is fantastic. Can’t go wrong working along side great folks. Most of us have worked together a few times over the years.
How would you survive a zombie apocalypse?
I would start by boring them by reading aloud anything by Proust then get em giggling with the comedy of Eddie Izzard and Emo Phillips…that would do em!
